INTRODUCTION
Learning about the plight of orphans and vulnerable children, and
the current political and social economic challenges faced in Zimbabwe,
ICRI made the decision to provide technical assistance and capacity
building to already existing programs and to develop new programs
to address unmet needs.
In May 2006, ICRI was invited to collaborate on projects serving
children and families by NGOs and community-based organizations
in Zimbabwe, including the Manicaland Development Association, (MDA)
Girl-Child Network, Danani, the Kapnek Trust, and Africare, and
by the local government of the region of Buhera.
